Error: "No Cloud server was found" after upgrading VCD past 10.2.2

Issue/Introduction

• After upgrading VMware Cloud Director past version 10.2.2, attempting to connect using PowerCLI from a Windows Server 2012 R2 system fails with the error: "No Cloud server was found".

Environment

• VCD: 10.x
• TCP: 3, 4.x, 4.0.1, 5.x, 5.0. 5.0.1, 5.0.2
• Windows Server 2012 R2

Cause

• VCD appliances use updated ciphers that are incompatible with the default protocols and ciphers supported by Windows Server 2012 R2, preventing a secure TLS connection from being established.

Resolution

• Take backups of the VCD database and take snapshots of the VCD Appliances in vCenter.
• Log in to the VCD appliances via SSH as root.
• Enable all ciphers by running the following command:
  • /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/bin/cell-management-tool ciphers -d
• Restart the VCD Appliances for changes to take effect.
