Issue/Introduction

When files are uploaded using third-party Chrome extensions like Google Drive, MEGA, or Line, DLP cannot monitor these uploads.

Environment

DLP Release: 15.x, 16.x

Cause

DLP monitors file uploads to Chrome via the Symantec Extension. However, using this method, we currently do not support monitoring files uploaded through third-party Chrome extensions.

Resolution

To monitor file uploads via third-party Chrome Extensions. You can use Chrome SDK-based solution to detect and block the file upload.
