Carbon Black App Control

Issue/Introduction

  • After replacing the server certificate the App Control server is no longer listening on port 41002
  • In the serverlog.bt9 file messages similar to "cannot accept connections on port 41002" are found

Environment

App Control Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

  • This can occur if App Control cannot read the cert that has been applied correctly so it fails to listen on port 41002
  • This appears to have happened if the -nomac switch was used in the creation of the cert

Resolution

Upload a Self Signed or CA Signed PKCS#12 format key that hasn't been created by the openssl -nomac switch
