When viewing an IT Analytics Report the Right Frame Displays Refused to Connect

Issue/Introduction

When trying to view the IT Analytics reports in your SMP console you may click on any report and notice the right hand side of the web page displays the following message:

Cause

Not using the correct URL when accessing the SMP console.

Resolution

If you launch the SMP console from the Symantec Management Console 8.7 shortcut the URL might be something like:  http://localhost/altiris/console.  The Microsoft report server URL might be something like this:  http://SMP/ReportServer/.  When click on a report to run it, it tries to access the other URL, and since you're currently on localhost, you will get the error shown.

In this situation you would want to launch the SMP console using http://smp/altiris/console or whatever matches the URL used for your report server URL.  If the report server URL is http://SMP.example.com/ReportServer/ then you should be launching your SMP console using http://smp.example.com/altiris/console
