Issue/Introduction

We have a number of services in OI that are greyed out showing Health = Unknown.

When in edit mode these services display "The selected metric is not currently available" for the Override Health Calculation.

 

However when looking for that metric it does appear to be available.

Environment

  • DX OI SaaS
  • DX OI 24.x on-premise

Resolution

Possible root cause and solutions:

 

1) Issue with the NASS database

RECOMMENDATION: Ensure there is not issue with NASS service/pod, it is the primary database for the SLI/SLO Service feature.

 

2) Different Aggregation internal in-use for participants in the SLI

RECOMMENDATION:

This is due to a Product limitation, you must use the *same aggregation internal* for all participants in the SLI. 

 

3) Problem during metric registration

RECOMMENDATION: Manually force the " metric registration" by reapplying your custom health calculation on the affected OI Services:

 

a) Open the affected OI Service

b) Unset the override health calculation by removing your custom setting

c) Save the configuration

d) Reapply the your custom health setting

e) Save the configuration and refresh the view, you will be able to see the health metric now
