Issue/Introduction
In an environment with multiple servers, can administrators run installers on different servers to save time?
Environment
Service Management 17.4 including but not limited to
- Service Desk Manager
- Service Catalog
- xFlow/Service Point
- IT Asset Manager
Resolution
Broadcom recommends running installers one by one.
This is because installers lock the database during installation.
If two installers are trying to modify the same section of the database, then one installer will have to wait for the other to finish or possibly may not even modify the necessary fields which could cause errors.
