invalid appid <no> displayed on the business policy tab in VCO

Issue/Introduction

Error seen on VCO business policy tab as 'invalid appid' as seen in below screen shot.

 

This generally occurs in the following scenarios.

i) Customer were using specific edge override software image having recent application map and customer default operator profile consists older software image having old application map.

ii)when a custom created app ID is missing from the application map.

For example, in the app-map below, there are no app IDs for 7011, 7012, 7013, 7014, and 7015.

VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN Edge Appliance

Cause

This generally occurs during edge upgrades or operator profile changes where the old app-map might have custom app IDs that have not been updated in the new app-map.

Resolution

 

To resolve the first case scenario, default operator profile for the customer need to be updated. So the new application map will referred instead of old application map associated with old default operator profile.

 

To resolve the second case scenario, we need to create the missing or invalid app ID in the current app-map, or update the operator profile with the correct app-map that includes the custom app IDs.
