Issue/Introduction

Unable to issue the CTRANDEG command from SYSVIEW Conditions.

Receiving the following error in the Conditions GUI:

Message: Collector RDC_TRAN_WEB_AND_SOCKET_TIMES failed.  SYSVIEW command [CTRANDEG;] return code:12 error: CICS004W*CICS monitor is not active

Reason: SYSVIEW command execution resulted in an error

Action: Correct the errors that are described in the error text and try again

Number: GSV5013

Resolution

When the CICS region is not set, CTRANDEG will auto-switch to one of the regions, which may or may not be monitored. Thus, CICS004W CICS Monitor is not active message. 

This is true regardless where the command is issued from (SYSVAPPS data collector, REST API, TSO interface, and etc.)

If you want to get CTRANDEG for a specific region, issue

CICS regionName; CTRANDEG

The command also supports SYSTEM, XSYSTEAM, and GROUP.
