how can I customize net_connect alarms or change the severity?

Issue/Introduction

I would like to change the alarm message sent by the net_connect probe, either to modify the alarm message itself or change the severity. How is this accomplished?

 

Environment

CA UIM version 20.3 and later
net_connect 3.21 and later

Resolution

- Open the net_connect configuration GUI in Infrastructure Manager and click on the 'Message Pool Manager' icon.

- From here, right click on any message and choose "Edit"

 

From there you can change any aspect of the message:
