Error: ap_unixd_mpm_get_retained_data from Web Agent on Apache

Issue/Introduction

Running a Reverse Proxy Web Agent on Apache, this one doesn't start, and Apache reports the error:

httpd: Syntax error on line 62 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /{home_web_agent}/bin/libmod_sm24.so into server: /{home_web_agent}/bin/libmod_sm24.so:  undefined symbol: ap_unixd_mpm_get_retained_data

This occurs after upgrading the Web Agent version running on Apache 2.4.6 on RedHat 7.    

 

Cause

The Web Agent 12.8 runs on Red Hat Apache 2.4.6.

Web Agent 12.8 should run with ASF Apache 2.4.27 at a minimum (1).

Resolution

To resolve this issue, upgrade the Apache Web Server to at least 2.4.27 or a later version.
