Issue/Introduction

After deploying maintenance to production there is a significant cpu reduction in the TSS address space.

RMF report shows the coupling fac requests to the structure-name used to contain the Security File in the Coupling Facility are reduced by >90% 

Environment

The following Control Options are set:

 

OPTIONS(61)  to use the coupling facility to hold the File Lock record.

SYSPLEX(,group-name,structure-name)

AESCACHE(OFF)

Cause

LU08099

Resolution

LU08099 primary optimization was in the DSN allocate but it also eliminated extracts done at CICS sign on. 

The fix also reduces I/O for USS requests and TSO logon.

The description in LU08099 describes the primary purpose/function of the fix, the additional benefits were a result of the primary function.
