When adding secondary connector in vIDM Identity provider it fails with error "Could not find domains in the directory [null]"

Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on how to add secondary connectors to IDP successfully and fix this error "Could not find domains in the directory [null]"

Environment

VMware Identity Manager™ 3.3.7

Cause

Adding the secondary connector without the bind user details causes this error "Could not find domains in the directory [null]"

 

Resolution

• While adding the secondary connector node in IDP
• Make sure to Check the option "Bind to AD"
• Provide bind user details and click "Add Connector" that should add the connector successfully
