After upgrading VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and vSphere Replication (VR) to version 9.0, the vCenter Server displays repeated task failures for all hosts in the inventory.
The following error events are observed in the vCenter Server tasks or logs:
A general system error occurred: Health Check for '{server name}' failed com.vmware.vr-sa-####-####-####-####-####@VSPHERE.LOCAL.

Cause: A generic error occurred in the vSphere Replication Management Server. Exception details: 'javax.net.ssl.SSLException: SSL handshake from 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0:55716 to /10.#.#.#:443 failed in 0 ms'.

VMware ESXi 8.0
VMware ESXi 7.0
VMware vSphere Replication 9.0.2
vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) automatically disables the vmware-hbr agent version 9.0.2 because it is non-compliant with ESXi versions 8.0 Update 2 and earlier. This specific agent version requires ESXi 8.0 Update 3 or later to function and remain compliant.
To resolve this issue, upgrade the affected ESXi hosts to VMware ESXi 8.0 Update 3 or later. Once the hosts are running a compatible version, vSphere Lifecycle Manager will recognize the vmware-hbr agent as compliant and will no longer disable it.
