Cluster Fails to Start Due to Outdated Daemon Host Configuration Records

Issue/Introduction

The cluster down status was verified by results of nodetool-no-pass status showing nodes are down within the Cassandra cluster

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

Cause

The /storage/core/loginsight/config/loginsight-config.xml#XX config file showed 6 “daemon host” configuration records while the customer stated the cluster has only 3 nodes.

Resolution

Remove the “daemon host” configuration records from the /storage/core/loginsight/config/loginsight-config.xml#XX config file that do not match active cluster nodes, since removing the “daemon host” configuration records avoids having cluster nodes hang while trying to collaborate with non-existent nodes.
