Issue/Introduction
On Windows Server, Spectrum MySQL service not starting properly:
Environment
DX NetOps Spectrum all currently supported releases on Windows OS
Cause
The error code causing MySQL not to start is 0x80000003:
It can be caused by any of the following:
- Corrupted Windows registry entries caused by leftover keys of previously uninstalled MySQL instance.
- Malware attacks
- Windows updates/patches causing conflicts
- Malfunctioning hard disk sectors
- Corrupt or missing MySQL application files
Resolution
Uninstall Spectrum, then reinstall, as per:
