Issue/Introduction

On Windows Server, Spectrum MySQL service not starting properly:

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum all currently supported releases on Windows OS

Cause

The error code causing MySQL not to start is 0x80000003:

It can be caused by any of the following:

• Corrupted Windows registry entries caused by leftover keys of previously uninstalled MySQL instance.
• Malware attacks
• Windows updates/patches causing conflicts
• Malfunctioning hard disk sectors
• Corrupt or missing MySQL application files

Resolution

Uninstall Spectrum, then reinstall, as per:
