Question:

How do you set the Screen Mapping (standard or enhanced) when using the Gen Implementation Toolset (IT) on z/OS?

 

 

Answer:

The variable TIMAPSEL controls the setting to use standard or enhanced screen mapping for Gen modules.  When using the z/OS IT this variable must be set prior to generating the Gen module remote file, whether on the Client Server Encyclopedia (CSE) or Toolset.   Change or add to the environment variables system properties setting as follows:

 Variable                               Value

TIMAPSEL                               1

or

TIMAPSEL                               2

Where 1 is for standard mapping and 2 is for enhanced mapping.   The default is 2, if the variable is not set.
