iDash cannot connect to AE database

Issue/Introduction

Problem: 

Cannot connect to the autosys database via the iDASH admin tool. Test db connection fails:

com.ca.idash.core.exception.IdashException: Unable to create a new JDBC connection for: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://<hostname>:1433/AEDB

Environment:

iDash 11.4 

Microsoft Windows 2008 

Microsoft Sql server 2008 

Workload Automation AE 11.3.6

 

 

Resolution:

Update the following properties for the $IDASH_HOME/etc/idash.conf file on the iDash server and restart the server. 

idash.server.db.report.host.reachable=false 

idash.server.db.test.host.reachable=false 

This will allow iDash to skip the ping verification step of the db host. 

Assuming the other information provided to iDash is correct and available the test connection should then succeed.
