Issue/Introduction

vCenter无法连接主机

 

1. 添加主机时，到 add host -> connection settings 的时候，报错如下

Cannot contact the specific host. The host may not be available on the network, a network configuration problem may exist, or the management services on this host may not be responding.

 

2. 查看vpxd日志，有如下报错

--> The remote host certificate has these problems:

--> 

--> * unable to get local issuer certificate

Environment

vCenter 7.0 U3

ESXi 7.0 U3

Cause

1. 在vcenter上执行命令查看MTU是否工作正常

ping ESXI_HOSTNAME -c 10 -M do -s 1472

其中 -c 代表ping 几个包

-M do 代表不拆包

-s 1472 代表 不含二层overhead的包长，实际包长为 1472 + 28（二层overhead）= 1500

 

2. 如果显示有ping的结果，说明MTU正常，例如

1468 bytes from ESXI_HOST: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.194 ms
1468 bytes from ESXI_HOST: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.382 ms

如果显示 ping timeout，说明MTU 有问题。可以尝试减少 -s的值，直到最后ping通。以此来获得MTU的值

 

3. 通过ping命令得到中间物理网络设备的真实MTU值。如果低于vCenter/ESXi的MTU设定，代表中间网络设备和vCenter/ESXi配置不匹配。
