DX NetOps CA Performance Management - Usage and Administration

Issue/Introduction

When upgrading Netops Portal we saw the following non-fatal error in the install log

 

The portal failed with the following error

 

Custom Action:            com.ca.im.installanywhere.action.CheckDatabaseConnection
                          Status: ERROR
                          Additional Notes: ERROR -     class com.ca.im.installanywhere.action.CheckDatabaseConnection NonfatalInstallException CheckDatabaseConnection exceptionUnable to open database connection: (jdbc:mysql://xxx-xxx-xx-xx:3306/mysql?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8&useSSL=false with xxx/xxxxx) Communications link failure

Environment

Dx NetOps Performance Management 23.3.12:

Portal on one server and the mysql database on another server.  The failure was on the Portal server

Resolution

The error is benign.  The log indicated an issue connecting to mysql but the retry connected and proceeded.   After the upgrade completed you should successfully be able to connect to portal
