Issue/Introduction

Unable to perform offline upgrade of vRealize Network Insight (vRNI ),since the dropdown options show older versions for upgrade in Aria suite Lifecycle manager.

The binary for the upgrade was uploaded to `/data`, and an inventory synchronization was performed along with a restart of the appliance, but the issue persisted.

Environment

VRLCM 8.x

Cause

The issue was caused by a pending request in the Aria Suite Lifecycle manager request page.

This pending request prevented the system from properly updating or recognizing the new vRealize Network Insight (vRNI) version for the upgrade.

Resolution

  • Remove the Pending Request: Navigate to the Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager request page and remove the pending request.
  • Verify Upgrade Options: After removing the pending request, check the dropdown options in Aria suite Lifecycle Manager to confirm that the new version is now available.
  • Perform Upgrade: Proceed with the offline upgrade to vRealize Network Insight version as intended.

Additional Information

Pending requests in Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager can interfere with the visibility and selection of available upgrade versions. This occurs when the system is still processing or has not cleared out older requests, leading to outdated or incomplete upgrade options being displayed.

Removing the pending request clears these conflicts, allowing the system to properly recognize and display the new version for upgrade.
