Issue/Introduction

Sysview 17.0 HIPER PTF LU14164 corrects a problem with Capture command leaving orphaned blocks in E-CSA. Is there any way to check if a specific Sysview region could be affected by this problem?

Environment

SYSVIEW 17.0 - z/OS supported releases - 

Resolution

If the current Captures are working successfully then you shouldn't be experiencing this problem. 

The orphan problem only occurs if errors (various) occur when SYSVIEW tries to perform the capture.
 
This command can be issued to see if there are currently any of these control blocks lying around on your system:
VSMTRACK DETAIL ; SELECT CHAR CT CPRQE

The 'no match found' indicates there were no data rows containing that character string in the CharData field out to the right, which means the problem hasn't occurred on that system. CharData shows the first 16 bytes of that storage allocation in case there are any visible eyecatchers.
