Is there a limitation of how many SNMP profiles can be created and handled for one tenant in Performance Manager ?
This article brings information on this matter, provided by engineering.
Any supported version
There is not any limit for the number of SNMP profiles you can have.
However, the more SNMP profiles you add, the more SNMP profiles we try in a discovery profile that doesn't specifically choose what SNMP profiles to use.
So you create 100 SNMP profiles, then we try 100 SNMP profiles during discovery if you don't choose specific profile(s) to use. And that goes for SNMP profile rediscovery when we can't poll a device after 2 polls. If you don't choose the SNMP profiles, it tries all say 1000 SNMP profile checks at once per IP in discovery profile and can kill the device. And if the device turns off SNMP after so many failed SNMP profile checks, we may never discover the device.
You're also gonna need unique discovery profiles with 1 SNMP v3 profile per discovery profile.
You might need to automate that with Portal and DA rest calls to create SNMP profiles, and then create discovery profile with 1 IP and then choose the correct DA synced SNMP profile.
It's more a massive management nightmare to have 1 snmpv3 per device.
