Steps to restore NSX Manager from a backup.

Environment

VMware NSX-T

Resolution

Restore operations are allowed only on a newly deployed appliances and if the IP/FQDN of the backup matches the IP/FQDN of the NSX appliance.

1. Deploy a new NSX Manager appliance.
   • The version must be the same as the backed up NSX Manager appliance.
2. Log in to the new NSX Manager appliance.
3. Navigate to Backup & Restore under the System section.
4. Click EDIT next to the SFTP Server Settings and enter the FTP server settings of the location of the backup to be restored.
5. The Backup History section should populate the available backups. Select the required backup and click Restore.
