No compile TIMESTAMP with COBOL 5.X

Issue/Introduction

Question:

When compiling Gen modules using COBOL 5, we no longer see the last compile timestamp when helped determine if something needed to be re-compiler or not, did Gen change this or are we missing something?   

 

 

Answer:

When using COBOL 5 version 1 or 2, it will not contain the compile timestamp (date/time of last compile) in the executable load module as it did with COBOL 4.x and prior versions. This was changed by IBM and not a problem specific to Gen.
