Issue/Introduction

With CentOS 7 going end of life, what supported OS versions can the EDR server be migrated into going forward?

Environment

  • Carbon Black EDR Server: All Versions
  • CentOS:7

Resolution

  • The suggestion is to move to a supported RHEL version, or move to Alma or Rocky flavors that are built off of RHEL. Amazon Linux will also be evaluated for future support. See the Server Operating Environment Requirements (OER) guide for the current RHEL based versions supported.
  • CentOS stream versions will not be supported, this is due to it being an upstream version of RHEL that could introduce stability issues and not be predicable.

Additional Information

  • Many of the OS's provide documentation on how to migrate directly from CentOS 7.
