After upgrading to Deployment Solution 8.7.2 release, PXE boot server needs to be rebooted a couple times a day for PXE to work again.
Since the upgrade, it seems since then PXE Boot keeps stopping ("Symantec Network Boot Service (TFTP)" service).
NOTE:
This issue could also occur on a GSS 3.3 RU11 and RU12 server but with the 'Altiris PXE MTFTP Server' service instead
Deployment Solution (DS) 8.7.1, 8.7.2
Ghost Solution Suite (GSS) 3.3 RU11, RU12
Known issue. An unexpected stop of the TFTP service was caused by improper handling of certain network errors in the customer environment. We have added a fix that we believe should address the unhandled problem.
This issue has been fixed for our Deployment Solution 8.7.3 and GSS 3.3.13 Releases.
In the meantime, there is a updated exe that you can use depending of the product used.
For Deployment Solution:
Try the updated SbsMtftp.exe attached here instead of original SBSMTFTP.exe:
For Ghost Solution Suite:
Try the updated PxeMtftp.exe attached here instead of original PXEMTFTP.exe:
