Unknown load spike on every datastore when Fujitsu ESXi host is upgraded to vSphere 8.x

Issue/Introduction

Small read I/O spikes observed on every datastore on every host after upgrade of Fujitsu hosts to vSphere 8.x (with custom Fujitsu image), even when a host is in maintenance 

 

Environment

Fujitsu Primergy Server

vSphere 8.x, custom Fujitsu image.

 

Cause

Fujitsu Add-Ons and especially the FujtsuSVHCP service are running in the background, and trigger repeated queries against datastores which are the source of the unexpected read I/Os. 

Resolution

If the levels of I/O generated are of concern, customer should engage Fujitsu support.

As a temporary workaround, customer can stop the FujtsuSVHCP service. Customer should confirm with Fujitsu support the impact of stopping this service.
