Error applying vCenter 7.0 U3r patch using async patch tool

Cause

 

Failure Output from the Async Patch Tool

[INFO ] Performing precheck - validate no lcm dependent service workflows in-progress
[INFO ] Performing precheck - validate no in-progress upgrade
[INFO ] Performing precheck - validate no partially upgraded NSX clusters
[ERROR] Error occurred fetching the nsxt cluster for domains: [domain ID, domain ID, domain ID]
[INFO ] Performing precheck - validate no scheduled upgrade
[ERROR] Precheck failed due to the following errors:
[ERROR] UNEXPECTED_EXCEPTION_THROWN
-- Error Message: Unexpected exception thrown: null
-- Remedy: Please contact GSS for further assistance.
[INFO ] Telemetry data collection is not enabled
[ERROR] Error while initiating required functionality: ENABLE_ASYNC_PATCH
[ERROR] ENABLE_PATCH_PRECHECK_FAILED
-- Error Message: Enable Patch pre-checks failed due to above errors.
-- Remedy: Please resolve all above errors and rerun the AP tool to enable patches.

Resolution

• Reboot all of the NSX-T Managers for each affected domain mentioned in the error.
• Once all Nodes are rebooted, attempt the Async Patch Tool again.
