Issue/Introduction

  • In pre-10.6 versions, the tenant users could have the rights such as 'Manage Provider Gateway Routing'.
  • This right enabled the tenant users to manage Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
  • In 10.6, the right is available for system administrators only.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6

Cause

This behavior is due to the new feature Three-Tier Tenancy model(introduced experimentally in Cloud Director 10.5) added in Cloud Director 10.6.

Resolution

The workaround is to disable the Three-Tier tenancy using the Feature Flag option. This will allow to leverage the feature as available in pre-10.6 versions.

  1. From the provider portal navigation bar, select Administration.
  2. In the left panel, under Settings, select the Feature Flags tab.
  3. Select the Rights Classification, and click Enable.
  4. For the changes to take effect, log out and log in again to the VMware Cloud Director Service Provider Admin Portal.
