It can be configured proxy settings. This is required when CAS can not directly communicate to the internet. However, what services are proxied ?
Essentially, proxy configuration is for the HTTP(s) communications when CAS cannot communicate to outbound. Please refer to Outbound Connections from Content Analysis and Required URLs.
It can be accessed via HTTP(s) to some services such as license validation. It can not be accessed via NOT HTTPS(s), NOT TCP. e.g: SMTP is not proxied via HTTP(s), and SNMP trap is not TCP, but UDP.
*Most HTTP(s) communications are defined to Required URLs.
And another services not shown in above documents are File upload via FTP/SFTP. This is similar to Symantec Reporter Service, and it is possible to upload to FTP based file server via proxy.
