XCOM Data Transport - z/OS

Issue/Introduction

We are migrating from JES3 to JES2. We would like to know if there is any specific change that we should perform in XCOM.

Environment

  • XCOMâ„¢ Data Transport® for z/OS
  • JES3
  • JES2

Resolution

1. You will need to verify if you are are currently using the PSO feature of XCOM or any XCOM exits that use JES. Here is a link to our documentation with information about the PSO feature:

XCOM Process Sysout

The PSO feature allows XCOM to monitor the JES queue for any work/output that it needs to transfer. Several things are involved here:

  1. You have to make sure that you have a DEST member enabled
  2. That dest member has parameters to help the XCOM task monitor the JES queue for any DEST or WRITER out there that it needs to transfer.
  3. Use the documentation to assist you with the details.

Some KD's for you to review:

Sending reports

Performing a PSO

2. To determine if you are using any of the XCOM exits, please review the CONFIG member to see if you have enabled any of them.

EXIT parameters

If you are using any of the exits then you will have to that they are reassembled if necessary. We document the exits in our manual as well.

3. Another thing determine is if you are performing any type of SEND REPORT transfers.

Here is the link to the XCOM manuals.
