Virtual machines are not receiving the IP address from NSX segment DHCP server

Issue/Introduction

• The DHCP server for overlay segments in NSX has been configured.
• The DHCP segment is assigned to the virtual machines, but they are not receiving IP addresses from the DHCP server.

Cause

The IP ranges are not configured in the DHCP configuration settings to assign IP addresses to the connected virtual machines.

Resolution

Users may be allowed to save the DHCP configuration without specifying a DHCP range, but they must configure the required IP ranges within the DHCP configuration settings to ensure valid IP addresses are assigned to the virtual machines.
