How to send notification when fields within CI?s are updated?

Issue/Introduction

Question:

How to send notification when fields within CI’s are updated?

Answer:

Please follow below steps in enabling notification for CI fields:

1.    Go to Administration -> Notifications -> Activity Associations ->  Click on Search Filter and in Object Type select “Configuration Item” and Search. Here we see list of fields related to CI. Refer to below screen shot:

2. Click on the required symbol ex: Cost Center -> click on Edit and check option "Log Me" and save. Refer to below screen shot:

3.    The “Field Update Activity Notification” will trigger notification whenever “Cost Center” field is updated in CI.

4.    The changes need to be made for all required fields where notification needs to be triggered.
