Issue/Introduction

How can I create a DX Dashboard with Number of Devices from DX OI?

One of the things I want to be able to present is the total number of devices that are being monitored under a service. I have not been able to find a way to build a query for AIOps_Inventory that will show the count of devices that are in a specific service. We would like to build a query that would get a count of all devices within a service.

Resolution

You must use the "serviceNames" attribute, which lists the services that the device is monitored. Here is a sample dashboard we have created based on how it is stored in TAS and currently supported by DX Dashboards:

Please use the JSON file attached to this Knowledge Article to import in your DX Dashboard to make it easy.

Ensure you are following the below steps to import the dashboard:

  1. To import a dashboard click the + icon in the side menu, and then click Import.
  2. From here you can upload a dashboard JSON file that is inside this Knowledge Article
  3. Click on load, now DX Dashboards will let you change the name of the dashboard, folder, and UID.
  4. Click on import to see the dashboard.
