z/OS User Exits Must be Reinstalled After Upgrade

Issue/Introduction

 

Summary:

After upgrading to Gen 8.5, changes must be made again to any previously modified user exits. GLOBDATA was added to all user exits and the z/OS User Exits must be reinstalled after upgrade.

 

Instructions:

The load modules for user exits are stand-alone modules meaning they are no longer statically linked into TIRORUN* where * is C=CICS, I=IMS, T=TSO.  The user exits are installed with the JCL provided in CEHBSAMP(MKUEXITS).  The source names end with “X” and the load module names end with “Z”.  If Direct Connect for CICS or IMS is used, user exits are located in CEG8SAMP or CEG9SAMP respectively.  Installation for the middleware exits are made with MKUECTCP (CICS) or MKUEITCP (IMS) located CEG8SAMP or CEG9SAMP respectively.
