Issue/Introduction

The old NTP settings are still displayed even after the NTP server was changed on the  VMware Identity Manager (vIDM) appliance configurator page.

Environment

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.x

Resolution

The NTP server can be modified using a script available on the vIDM appliance.

Before changing any settings it is recommended to take a backup, please ensure the backup is valid and can be used in the event of a restore/recovery.

  1. Login via SSH to the vIDM appliance you'd like to change.
  2. Use this command to read current NTP server used:
    /usr/local/horizon/scripts/ntpServer.hzn --get
  3. Use this command to set the new NTP server, replace pool.ntp.org with your NTP server
    /usr/local/horizon/scripts/ntpServer.hzn --set pool.ntp.org
