vSAN error messages on the management screen in VMware Aria Operations for Logs

Issue/Introduction

esx-hostname.domain-name vsansystem: error vsansystem[xxxxxxx] [vSAN@6876 sub=Libs opId=xxxxxxxxxx] vsanSpbm: wrong xml file

Environment

The logs of the Host will contain the following entries

error vsansystem[2101014] [vSAN@xxxx sub=LibsopId=04eeddcf] vsanSpbm: XML conversion failed for blob: {"hostFailuresToTolerate":0,"spbmProfileId":"xxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx","proportionalCapacity":100,"spbmProfileGenerationNumber":0}
error vsansystem[2101014] [vSAN@xxxx sub=LibsopId=04eeddcf] vsanSpbm: XML conversion failed for blob: {"hostFailuresToTolerate":0,"spbmProfileId":"xxxxxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx","proportionalCapacity":100,"spbmProfileGenerationNumber":0}

 

You will see error messages in VMware Aria Operations for Logs similar to what is seen below

 

Cause

The above messages are consequences of CheckStoragePolicySatisfaction triggered by file serviceQueryHealthSummary. As the policy passed in is vsan expression already, the error was expected and would not affect the method functionality.

Resolution

The above messages can be safely ignored
