Issue/Introduction

If NFS 4.1 is the only shared datastore in a cluster that is being imported in brownfield, primary datastore and datastore type is not getting set in VCF. Because of this, the domain is not visible in the UI. Hence, no operations related to domain can be performed.

Since the primary datastore is not getting set and the domain is not visible in UI, it is not recommended to import such a cluster where NFS41 datastore is the only shared datastore and the candidate for the primary datastore

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2

Cause

While importing a domain with NFS41 datastore as the only candidate for the primary datastore, the primary datastore is not getting set. Hence, it results in instability of the SDDC manager and the domain is not visible in the UI.

Resolution

Avoid importing a cluster where there is no datastore apart from NFS41 datastore that is shared across all the hosts of the cluster and is the only candidate for the primary datastore.
