Issue/Introduction

Title: Alarm for Lack of Memory When Load Balancer is Reconfigured
Event ID: load_balancer.load_balancing_configuration_not_realized_due_to_lack_of_memory

Alarm Description:

  • Purpose: To inform users that the load balancer configuration is not realized due to lack of memory.
  • Impact: The new load balancer configuration is not realized.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Datacenter
VMware NSX

Cause

The issue may caused by insufficient memory on the edge node.

Resolution

Steps to resolve
For 3.2.0 and higher

Recommendation Action:

  1. Prefer defining small and medium-sized load balancers over large-sized load balancers.
  2. Spread out load balancer services among the available Edge nodes.         
  3. Reduce the number of Virtual Servers defined.
