Importing a content pack into Aria Operations for logs failed with the error "File is missing a content pack name"

Issue/Introduction

Exporting a content pack from the VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS) environment and importing it into the on-premises Aria Operations for Logs (version 8.x) environment fails with a "File is missing a content pack name" error

Environment

VMware Aria Operations for Logs (formerly known as vRealize Loginsight ) 8.x

Cause

The import failure happens because content packs are managed differently between the SaaS and on-premises deployments of Aria Operations for Logs. The SaaS environment exports content  with file format '.lint', while the on-premises environment requires content packs in ".VLCP" file format

Resolution

To resolve this issue, download the content pack in the VLCP file format and then import it into the on-premises version of Aria Operations for Logs
