Issue/Introduction

Trying to connect the external hard drive to a VM and it fails to detect

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0

Cause

The hard drive format was NTFS

Resolution

The VM Hard disk format was in NTFS.
To fix the issue, changed it to FAT32 format.

Steps :- 
1) Login to ESXi host client
2) Select the VM
3) Add USB device
4) Select the drive from the dropdown

Now, the drive is listed under "USB devices".
The hard drive was detected from the USB device settings of the VM from the ESXi host client.
The hard drive is listed under file explorer within the VM.
