"Authentication failed" error when using Cloud Director Administrator user credentials in the Cloud Director Availability provider portal.

Issue/Introduction

• Cloud availability is unable to authenticate with vCloud director using administrator@system credentials.
• Unable to update VCD endpoint in vCloud director availability using VCD administrator@system credentials.
• We see log entries similar to:

Environment

VMware vCloud Director Availability 4.7 and above.

Cause

Known Issue

• vCDA version 4.7 and above are NOT compatible with VCD version 10.6.

Resolution

No resolution as of now.

• An upcoming VCDA version 4.7 is in progress to fix this compatibility issue.
• Use VCD version 10.5 or below version with VCDA 4.7 and above.
