Issue/Introduction

Problem:

The pre-check installation returns the error: Unable to retrieve DB Timezone, refer to checkinstall.log for details when upgrading to v14.2 or v14.3

This happening with customers that are in the GMT timezone. It does not happen when the timezone changes to British Summer Time for example.

 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. On the Clarity server set the timezone to (UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London

2. Set the clock to a GMT date. 

3. Extract the install.jar from the CA PPM 14.2 installation media

4. Run the checkinstall

 

Expected Result: The checkinstall runs and reports no error

Actual Result: Checkinstall reports "check-timezones.xml Unable to retrieve DB Timezone, refer to checkinstll.log for details."

 

Cause:

This was identified as issue CLRT-78017 

 

Resolution:

Resolved in CA PPM 14.3

Resolved in CA PPM 14.2 Generic Patch #7

 

Workaround:

To adjust the DB & CA PPM server timezones to non-GMT timezones then continue the upgrade. Changed back to the GMT Timezone after the upgrade has been  successful.
