When trying to optimize workload placement facing error: "Please enable Actions on parent VC adapter instance to optimize cluster placement."
Aria Operations 8.10.x and above.
The "Actions" functionality is not enabled for the vCenter adapter instance associated with the cluster. Workload optimization in Aria Operations relies on performing actions within the vCenter environment, such as migrating virtual machines, to achieve optimal placement within clusters. With "Actions" disabled, Aria Operations lacks the necessary permissions to execute these tasks and generate recommendations.
Follow below steps to enable Operational Actions on parent vCenter adapter.
Enabling "Operation Actions" within the vCenter adapter configuration allows Aria Operations to execute actions needed for workload optimization recommendations. This includes tasks like migrating virtual machines across clusters based on resource utilization data. With this setting enabled, Aria Operations can analyze your environment and provide suggestions for optimal cluster placement.
