Issue/Introduction
During VCF bringup once the cluster is created the cluster Quickstart configuration is not completed.
As a result, the vSAN health reports a warning that hosts are still in Maintenance mode, as vSAN health expects all the hosts in Maintenance mode if the cluster is in Quick start configuration i.e if the Quick start configuration is not completed.
After the VCF Management Domain has completed deployment via the Cloud Builder, in the vCenter UI > Cluster > Configuration > Quickstart, we see a warning message "All required hosts are in maintenance mode" condition not met.
This warning does not cause any functional issue in the management domain and can be manually addressed using the workaround described below.
Environment
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x
Cause
This error is because the vSAN health expects all the hosts in Maintenance mode if the cluster is in Quick start configuration i.e if the Quick start configuration is not completed. Once the cluster Quick start workflow is completed the vSAN health warnings will be suppressed.
Resolution
Manually skip the current quickstart configuration via the vSphere UI:
Login into the Vcenter deployed as part of Bring-up
Navigate to the Cluster.
Go to Configure > Configuration > Quickstart > Skip Quickstart
This will suppress all the un-suppressed health warnings.
