Issue/Introduction

The Datacom/AD MUF has recently been upgraded from v14 to v15.1, can the backup datasets that was a part of the upgrade be deleted? How long do we need to keep these backups?

Resolution

Depending on how recently the Datacom/AD MUF was upgraded, some sites might want to retain the previous version backups longer in case the need for a fall back.

The general recommendation is that if the Datacom environment has been running for an extended period of time (2-4 weeks) without any issues , then the previous version backups could be archived or deleted.

Additional Information

Another recommendation to follow by the Datacom team is to perform daily backups of the Datacom CXX, DBID 2 and DBID 15 as these databases need to be in sync with each other. Visit System Backups on our documentation for more information.
