Installing VIP Enterprise Gateway fails with error "“Jre libraries are missing or not compatible”

Issue/Introduction

An installation of the Symantec VIP Enterprise Gateway fails with the error “Jre libraries are missing or not compatible”.

Cause

TMP mount point permissions.The NOEXEC flag in the mount command does not allow the execution of executable binaries in the mounted file system

Resolution

1. Follow the instructions in the VIP Enterprise Gateway guide to set proper permissions for the user installing the software. (click here)
2. Add exec permissions to the Linux /tmp folder.
