Diagnostics for VMware Cloud Foundation is designed to help you analyze and troubleshoot the most common capabilities of VCF components. This feature detects common issues in your environment and provides them as findings for you to diagnose and fix issues. It provides relevant information in self help flows for vCenter capabilities (e.g vMotion) to help you diagnose problems
Current capabilities covered in Diagnostics for VMware Cloud Foundation include vMotion, Snapshots, and Workload Provisioning.
For the initial release of Diagnostics for VMware Cloud Foundation we are releasing a subset of the Skyline Advisor Property based findings and a subset of the Skyline Health Diagnostics log based findings. We chose these findings based on how frequent these issues are seen in Global Support, issues discovered after reviewing customer escalations, high priority VMSAs, and issues which are very impactful to customer’s environments.
Please note: In Diagnostics for VMware Cloud Foundation found in Operations 8.18 the Property based findings are only Product Patch based findings. We are planning to add configuration based findings in a future release.
To see the list of the Findings which are a part of Diagnostics for VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2 please review the following link.
If you would like to nominate a Findings or Idea for Diagnostics please do so under the Feedback feature in the vCenter UI.
