Issue/Introduction

Agent installed on Windows Enterprise for Virtual Desktops or Windows Enterprise multi-session shows as a Windows Server in the Console.

Environment

  • App Control Console: All Supported Versions
  • App Control Agent: 8.0.x - 8.8.2
  • Microsoft Windows Enterprise for Virtual Desktops
  • Microsoft Windows Enterprise (multi-session)

Cause

Microsoft reports this OS version as ProductType 3 which is the same value as Windows Server:

This property keeps the OS compatible with existing RDSH management tooling, RDSH multi-session-aware applications, and mostly low-level system performance optimizations for RDSH environments

Resolution

This issue was tracked under EP-16811 and fixed with the release of Agent version 8.9.0, upgrading will resolve the issue.

  • EP-16811: Fixed an issue where Windows 10 Enterprise Multi-Session Displayed as "Windows Server 2019" in the console.
