Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry and Tanzu Data Services

If you are using Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry and/or using Tanzu Data Services on Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry, there are two options for providing usage data.

Automated with the Telemetry Tile

Usage data can be automatically sent using the Telemetry tile with the documentation provided here. To satisfy the requirement of providing usage data, only "Operational Data" needs to be shared with Broadcom.

Manual with the Tanzu Telemetry Collector CLI

If using the Telemetry Tile is not feasible due to infrastructure or logistical issues, the Tanzu Telemetry Collector CLI can be used following the documentation provided here. The Tanzu Telemetry Collector CLI can be used to collect the operational data from each foundation each month. To satisfy the requirement of providing usage data, the commands used to collect only operational data are required when collecting data. The CLI can be run from any location which has access to the Usage Service running on the foundation. The resulting .tar file can be copied to a location which has access to the internet to execute the send command.
